NEWS:
- Medina Township police Officer Michael Oyler, 39, received a life-saving award at Thursday’s township trustees’ meeting, for using CPR to revive Medina Township resident Debora Gaydar, 52. Police Chief David Arbogast presented Oyler with the award. He was presented with a certificate and a bar to pin to his uniform. During the presentation, Trustee Michael Todd read a letter from one of Gaydar’s sons, Matthew Simon. “Because of you, I was able to hold her hand and say goodbye,” Simon wrote. FLAG DAY:
Flag Day Events will take place on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 1:00 pm at Blakslee Park, 3718 Weymouth Road, Medina. Please click here to view the flyer with complete details.
FLAG DAY CONTESTS:
1. Citizens of Medina Township will be invited to participate in creating a Medina Township Flag. Five finalists will be announced and on display at our Flag Day event on Saturday, June 9, 2012 allowing the residents to begin voting on the winner. The event will begin at 1:00pm at Blakslee Park, 3718 Weymouth Road, Medina. All finalists will receive an award and the winner will receive a $50.00 savings bond and a flag with their design. The five final designs will continue to be on display at Town Hall and our website for several months giving the residents an opportunity to vote on their favorite design. The flag with the winning design will be made and unveiled at our 2013 Flag Day event.
2. This will be the fourth year we will have a Flag Essay contest for the Medina School Fourth Grade and Home Schooled students. The first place winner and the runner will receive a $100 and $50 savings bond, respectively. Both students have the option to read their essays at the 2012, 4th annual Flag Day celebration held at Blakslee Park on Saturday, June 9, 2012.
